معبد كوم امبو

The Temple of Kom Ombo is an unusual and fascinating structure located in the town of Kom Ombo, about 48 kilometers north of Aswan in Upper Egypt. What makes this temple unique is that it is dedicated to two gods: the falcon-headed god Horus the Elder (Haroeris) and the crocodile god Sobek. This dual dedication is reflected in its symmetrical design, with each half of the temple mirroring the other
The walls of the temple are adorned with intricate reliefs and inscriptions. Notably, there is a famous relief depicting surgical instruments, which provides insight into the medical practices of ancient Egypt. Another notable carving shows Ptolemy XII (the father of Cleopatra) making offerings to the gods.
The Temple of Kom Ombo stands out not only for its dual dedication but also for its historical and cultural significance, offering valuable insights into the religious practices and architectural achievements of ancient Egypt under the Ptolemies.
